More about this journey
About the destination. Koyasan (Mount Koya) is a mountaintop temple town and the heart of Shingon Buddhism, with the Okunoin cemetery, Danjo Garan temples and shukubo temple lodgings. The final mountain road is winding, and a private car keeps it comfortable.
How the trip runs. Your driver takes you from the airport plain up into the Kii mountains directly to your temple lodging or the town entrance. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall according to the inclusions shown at booking, tracks the arrival time you provide and helps with luggage.
Vehicles and luggage. The booking flow shows which vehicles fit your passenger and suitcase count before you confirm anything: standard sedans for couples, roomy MPVs for families, and vans or minibuses for larger groups with ski bags, strollers or golf bags. Capacities shown on each vehicle card are the authority; if your party is near a limit, pick the next size up.
